There is a mandatory large meeting this afternoon with the executive veep over IS, with mostly the software developers. It is being called a planning meeting. Very suspicious.
The admin assistant ended the reminder with: Thank you and have a "wonderful" day!

Quotation abuse, without a doubt.
Where are the QPS workers to rescue these abused pieces of punctuation? WHERE, I ASK YOU?
I think maybe she was thinking that using them puts emphasis on the word.
Unlike you, who knows that using all caps puts emphasis on words. Well done, there.
But I think it's a fairly common (though still annoying as hell) misconception that quotation marks are for emphasis. Seems that way to me, anyway.
Perhaps she's wishing you a day of "wondering" just what the hell is going on?
